Rev. Jeremiah Tillman, D. Min.
Dr. Jeremiah Tillman holds the following degrees: Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Wayland Baptist University, Plainview TX; Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, CA; and Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, OH. He completed the Chaplain Officer Basic Course and the Chaplain Officer Advance Course in Fort Monmouth, NJ.
Dr. Tillman accepted the call to preach the Gospel in 1980 Shiloh Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, TX and was ordained in 1982 at Brentwood Baptist Church, Houston, TX. He served as a Command and Unit Chaplain Captain for eight years and three months and received an honorable discharge from the United States Army (1994).
Dr. Tillman's teaching experiences include: Civil Engineer Instructor, U. S. Air Force, Wichita Falls, TX, Adjunct Professor of Religious Studies, Benedict College, Columbia, SC and Adjunct Professor of Religious Studies, Lynchburg University and Seminary, Lynchburg, VA. He has served as Senior Pastor of New Light Beulah Baptist Church, Hopkins, SC; Military Chaplain assignments in Fort Jackson, SC, Hanau, West Germany, and Fort Knox, KY; Summer Intern, Brentwood Baptist Church, Houston, TX, Associate Minister/Interim Pastor, Antioch Baptist Church, Fort Worth, TX; and Associate Minister, Shiloh Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, TX. Dr. Tillman was called to pastor First Baptist Church on July 26, 1999.
A native of Jackson, MS, Dr. Tillman is married to the former Veretta Jo Wiley. They have two children: Gabrielle and Jeremiah, II.
